Tripura Journalists Union to honour women journalists to mark International Women’s Day

AGARTALA:

As part of the observance of International Women’s Day on March 8 next, the Tripura Journalists Union (TJU) on Thursday announced to hounour at least 65 women journalists of the state with ‘Ananya Sangbad Yodhya Sanmanana 2025’.

The TJU will observe the day on March 8 through a series of programmes here at Agartala Press Club.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Press Club on Thursday, journalist Seshadri Dasgupta said that this is for the first time in the state of Tripura that the TJU will honour 65 women journalists of the state. Apart from this the Tripura Journalists Union will also honor journalist Reshmi Debnath with Saktirupa award for her immense contribution in the field of media.

The state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury will inaugurate the programme here at Agartala Press Club on March 8 next. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and also the MLA Dipak Majumder, Additional SP of the state Traffic Department Sudambika R and others will remain present in the programme. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu is invited to grace the occasion, she told reporters.
