Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday paid floral tribute to the portrait of Pdt. Deenadayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary here at Agartala and pitched to follow the ideas and vision of Deenadayal Upadhyay for the overall development of the country.
Addressing a gathering here at Agartala Rabindra Stabarshiki Bhavan, Dr. Saha said, “India's traditional philosophy is now being established in the world, while the philosophy of Western countries is gradually declining.”
“Pdt. Deenadayal Upadhyay’s philosophy of integrated humanism is now reflected everywhere. This philosophy is associated with Indian culture,” Dr. Saha said, adding that the ideas and vision of Deenadayal was neglected in the country since long and it was after the formation of Modi-led government that the birth anniversary of mainstream political figures likes Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Shyamaprasad Mukherjee to present their ideas and vision.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, Secretary of State Information and Cultural Affairs department P K Chakraborty and ICA director Bimbisar Bhattacharya, among others were present on the occasion.
