Six individuals were apprehended in Agartala as Tripura Police cracked down on drug-related activities late Tuesday night.
Acting on a tip-off regarding a group of youths involved in the sale and purchase of narcotics in the Krishnanagar area, officers from the West Agartala Police Station conducted a targeted raid.
Officer-In-Charge Paritosh Das stated that the raid resulted in the arrest of six suspects, accompanied by the confiscation of a pouch containing heroin. Upon preliminary interrogation, it was disclosed that the detained individuals had already distributed five additional pouches.
Subsequently, the police have initiated legal proceedings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and will present the accused before the court.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Uttam Chakraborty, Suman Debbarma, Sayan Deb, Rakesh Debnath, Prakash Kar, and Koushik Saha.
