Tripura Police has arrested three persons for spreading a false message and rumour mongering from Agartala.
In a series of post on X formerly known as Twitter, Tripura Police wrote that the trio held for spreading a false massage and rumour informing all the tribal people living in Agartala to leave Agartala before July 26 of 2024.
“Three persons are arrested till now in connection with the case registered at West Agartala PS for spreading a false massage/rumour informing all the tribal people living in Agartala to leave Agartala before 26/07/2024”, said Police.
It further said that strict legal action will be taken against such persons and specifically against the group admins of all such whatsapp groups if they promote/support such things.
“Please refrain from spreading such rumours, strict legal action will be taken against such persons and specifically against the group admins of all such whatsapp groups if they promote/support in their whatsapp groups such kind of video clips/messages which can create communal disharmony within the state. Situation is completely normal and peaceful”, it added.
Earlier Tripura Police has also given a series of warning of taking strict legal action against persons spreading such message and urged to refrain from spreading false rumours.
