On Sunday, Tripura Police seized cannabis valued at Rs 20 lakh from the Kachucherra area in the Kamalapur sub-division.
According to Kamalpur Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ayush Srivastava, the police were alerted by the Ambassa SDPO about a suspicious vehicle. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it speeds away.
The vehicle was later located in Kachucherra within the Kamalapur sub-division. Tripura Police found the car abandoned in a forested area, with the driver having fled. A search of the vehicle revealed 200 kg of cannabis hidden in the storage compartment.
The seized cannabis has an estimated market value of Rs 20 lakh. The police have impounded the vehicle and are actively pursuing the suspect.
