Tripura ranks 2nd for successful implementation of MGNREGA scheme: Minister Ratan Lal Nath

The state agriculture minister Ratan Lal Nath on Friday claimed that the Northeastern states of Tripura has ranked second position in the entire country in terms of implementation of MGNREGA scheme.

Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat the minister said, “Tripura ranked second with an average of 51.37 working days, while the state of Mizoram is on the first place with 53.44 working days. So far 2,94,16,312 days of work has been completed in the state.”

“People belonging to the indigenous community got the most work out of 51.37 man days i.e 59.47 percent in terms of percentage.” Nath said, adding that from 2018-19 FY to 2023-24 FY, 522533 assets have been created through MGNREGA.

The minister said that in during 2017-18 FY the state received Rs. 144.91 crore under the MGNREGA scheme. In 2018-19, this project received Rs. 879.55 crore, Rs. 814.3 crore in 2019-20, Rs. 1243.48 crore in 2020-21, Rs. 1051.69 crore in 2021-22, Rs. 996.2 crore in 2022-23 and Rs. 845.45 crore in 2023-24.
