The Northeastern states of Tripura is recognised as ‘Leader’ in providing a strong ecosystem for startups as per the States’ Startup Ranking 2022 released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha shared the achievement of the state in his social media handle on Tuesday evening and said, “Delighted to know that Tripura has been recognised as 'leader' in providing strong ecosystem for startups as per the States Startup Ranking Framework 2022 Results (category B states having population less than 1 crore) released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) today.”
“This achievement highlights our Government's vision for supporting the startups, in line with the goal of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji,” the statement reads.
Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka have emerged as the best-performing states in developing startup ecosystems for budding entrepreneurs
A total of 33 states and UTs participated in the exercise, which ranked them under five categories- best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders and emerging Startup Ecosystems. The rankings are based on the initiatives taken to develop the startup ecosystem for promoting budding entrepreneurs. The exercise is aimed at supporting states and UTs in developing their startup ecosystem and learning from each other’s best practices.
The states’ startup ranking for 2022 was released by commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal who urged the states to get all the startups registered with the DPIIT.
