Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday announced for setting up of homeopathy medical college in the state to boost the health sector of the state.
The chief minister was speaking in a state-level orientation programme of Ayush CHOs on Homeopathic Health Care for mothers and children at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here in Agartala.
He said that with a major transformation of the state’s health sector, the people of the state are being facilitated with the opportunity of homeopathy, ayurvedic and allopathy health services under one roof. The state government initiated a multifarious step for promotion of homeopathy management under the AYUSH services, he added.
Doctors, health workers and ASHA workers were felicitated in the programme for their contribution in different fields in providing health services in the state. In addition to this 5 retired homeopathy specialist doctors were felicitated in the programme for their achievement in homeopathic health services.
The Chief Minister also unveiled an awareness-based book cover on Thalassemia disease in the programme.
Health Secretary Dr. Debashish Basu, Director of Health department Dr. Subhashish Debbarma and others were present in the programme.
