The state fishery and animal resource development minister Sudhangshu Das on Monday chaired a district level review meeting here at Kailasahar in Unakoti district and said that quick assistance will be given to the fish farmers and animal husbandry, who were affected by the devastating flood in Tripura.
The minister asked the officials of the department to take initiative to provide quick assistance to the victims by completing the damage assessment work at the earliest.
In the review meeting, the Minister also said that special vigilance should be kept so that the beneficiaries can get the benefits of various projects of the concerned departments at the right time.
Unakoti Zilla Parishad Chairman Amalendu Das, Chandipur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sampa Das Pal, Gaurnagar Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Mohammad Badruzzaman, Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sumati Das, Pecharthal BAC Chairman Sajal Chakma, along with the District Magistrate D K Chakma, Director of Fisheries, Scheduled Caste Welfare and Animal Resource Development Department, Additional Director and SDMs of Kumarghat, BDOs were present in the meeting.
The minister said that the project work of establishing the first integrated aqua park of Tripura at Satero Miyan Haor in Kailashahar subdivision under the Unakoti district is under progress and will be opened very soon. This project is also aimed to generate employment opportunities for the youths of Unakoti and other parts, he added.
