The 34th Industry and Commerce Fair will begin from January 25 next here at Agartala Hapania International fair ground with the theme – ‘Technology & Innovation’.
Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat, the chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Nabadal Banik said that a total 503 stalls will be set up in the fair, which will run for 12 days. There will be 83 government stalls, 44 international stalls, 130 foreign stalls and 246 local stalls, he told reporters.
He said that at least 17 states in addition to Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Thailand will open their stalls this year in the industry fair. The fair will last till February 11 next.
The chairman also said that the main objective of the industry and trade fair is to create the idea of self-employment among the youths of the state. This year the fair will have a touch of innovation, he said, adding that two pavilions named Technology and Policy Pavilion will be opened in the fair under the initiative of the Department, where the youths of the state will get an opportunity to get an idea of becoming self-employed.
Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce Kiran Gitte, Deputy Director of the Department Swapna Debnath, OSD TIDC Vinay Bhushan Das was present in the press conference.
