TRIPURA: Winter assembly session to begin from Jan 5

AGARTALA:

The Winter Session of Tripura Assembly would commence from January 5, state Parliamentary Affairs minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Thursday.

Briefing the media persons on the outcome of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held on Thursday, the minister said that the assembly session, which will continue till January 11 next will commence with the speech of Governor and later the house will be adjourned for a day to condole the demise of sitting MLA Surajit Datta.

“This time the opposition will have ample scope to discuss the Governor's speech,” he said, adding that it is expected that the sessions will be beneficial for all sides.

He said there will be no major ‘business’ on the part of the government but two bills – Tripura Goods & Services Tax (7th amendment) Bill and Tripura State Tribal (4th amendment) Bill will be tabled in the House.
