TSR jawan kills himself with his service riffle in Tripura

AGARTALA:

A jawan of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service riffle at Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district.

The TSR jawan lost his life on the spot. The name of this deceased jawan was Babul Debnath a resident of Melaghar under Sepahijala district.

Police sources said that for a long time some TSR Jawas were posted on duty in Bishalgarh Town Girls High School. Suddenly, today one Jawan shot himself on his head with his service riffle at the TSR's temporary Camp.

After hearing the sound of gunshots, the locals along with other soldiers of the camp rushed to the spot and found him lying on pool of blood.

However, he was rescued by the fire and emergency service personnel and rushed to Bishalgarh Hospital where on duty doctor declared him brought dead.

After getting the information about the incident, the police of Bishalgarh police station along with senior officials of TSR rushed to the spot.

UP govt brings fresh measures after stampede deaths in Mahakumbh Mela

A day after at least 30 people were killed in a predawn stampede at the Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government has enforced stricter measures for better crowd management and safety of devotees as it restricted vehicular movement, cancelled VIP passes, increased security deployment, and ended needless restrictions on the pontoon bridges that connect the mela city.
