The TTAADC-run Tribal Folk Music College is set to take center stage with a delegation of 10 talented students who will captivate audiences with traditional music and dance at Rajyapal Bhawan in Mumbai on January 20.
In a historic move to celebrate and promote the diverse folk cultures of the nations, Chairman TTAADC Jagadish Debbarma of TTAADC has initiated a cultural extravaganza at the international level.
Today, a splendid program unfolded at the council bhavan premises in Khumulwng to mark the occasion. The event was graced by the presence of Executive member of the Information and Cultural Department, Suhail Debbarma, as the chief guest. Special guests included MLA Swapna Debbarma and Apan Debbarma, subzonal chairman of Takkarjala. The entire event was presided over by ADC Chairman Jagadish Debvarma.
The talented group of dance and music artists forming the delegation includes Tiplo Debbarma, Rubina Debbarma, Poppy Debbarma, Bipasa Debbarma, Pranab Debbarma, Bitu Debbarma, Rabindra Debbarma, Prince Debbarma, and Suman Debbarma. Apan Debbarma, entrusted with the responsibility of leading the delegation, expressed gratitude for the unique opportunity to represent their cultural heritage beyond the borders of their state.
This marks the first time that the ADC-run Tribal Folk Music College student troupe will be performing tribal dance and music outside the state, a significant milestone in promoting the rich tapestry of folk culture.
Executive member Suhail Debvarma and MLA Swapna Debvarma, among other dignitaries, shared their thoughts and appreciation during the brief event, expressing confidence that this showcase will not only mesmerize the audience but also foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the cultural diversity present within the nation.
