Two arrested with drugs worth Rs 2 Lakh in city

In a significant operation, the NCC police station successfully raided a house in the Khejur Bagan area, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics and cash. The raid, which was carried out based on a confidential tip-off, was overseen by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sushanta Deb of the NCC police station.

During the operation, authorities discovered dried marijuana, 300 heroin boxes, Rs 19,000 in cash, and a mobile phone from the residence of Loknath Roy. The total market value of the seized narcotics is estimated to exceed Rs 2 lakh, according to OC Sushanta Deb.

Loknath Roy, the owner of the house, was arrested on the spot. Following his confession, another individual, Dipankar Roy, was also apprehended. Both suspects are set to be produced in the police remand court, where further investigations will continue to uncover more details about their narcotics trafficking activities.
