Tripura Police today arrested two persons and seized drugs worth Rs 7 lakh from Kathalchari area under Sabroom Sub division of Tripura's South District.
Speaking on the issue, Sabroom Sub divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nityananda Sarkar said that today around 11. 30 AM the Tripura Police personnel of Sabroom Police Station received a tip off that one E-Auto Rickshaw carrying a huge consignment of drugs.
"Based on the inputs, Tripura Police and along with other forces rushed to the spot at Kathalchari and detained the auto in front. We have also apprehended two persons identified as BK Shill and Ashim Majumder from the auto. When we searched the auto we have seized 11.430 Grams of Brown Sugar and cash Rs 1270 seized.
The black market value would be around Rs 7 lakh. We have registered a case and a specific action would be taken", he added.
