Two held with Yaba tablets of Rs 3 lakh in Damcherra

Tripura Police have arrested two persons when they entered in the state from Assam and seized Yaba tablets of Rs 3 lakh from the Damcherra area under the North district which shares a border with Assam and Mizoram.

Speaking on the issue, Officer-in-Charge of Damcherra Police Station Raju Bhowmik said that today morning based on tip off they have intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number of AS-11F-4400 which was coming from Assam.

“When we intercepted the vehicle, we have found the person inside suspiciously. We have searched the vehicle and seized 600 Yaba tablets in 3 packets. The market value would be around Rs 3 lakh”, he said.

The arrestee were identified as Karanti Reang, (28), a resident of Bahadur Para under Khedachara police station and Kabir Ahmed (24) a resident of Patharkandi in Karimganj district of Assam.

“Two mobile phones were recovered from them”, he said.
