Two including Bihar resident held in Agartala Railway Station with cannabis

In a significant breakthrough, the Government Railway Police (GRP) successfully thwarted a ganja trafficking attempt at Agartala railway station. Acting on a confidential tip-off, law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals and seized 22 kilograms of dry cannabis from their possession.

According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the GRP, the police had received undisclosed information leading them to monitor the loading and unloading area of the railway station. Upon observation, their suspicions were raised as two youths approached the parcel office, prompting immediate intervention.

Upon conducting a search of the suspects' belongings, the police discovered 22 kilograms of dry ganja concealed within their bags. The arrested individuals were identified as Kondan Roy, a resident of Purushottampur, Bihar, and Mofis Miah, hailing from Sonamura Bara Pathar.

The GRP has initiated questioning of the detainees as part of their ongoing investigation into the matter. Authorities have confirmed that the case will be transferred to the appropriate judicial channels in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
