The Union Minister of Development of North-East region (DoNER), Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy, Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a slew of developmental projects for the state of Tripura.
The Union Minister virtually laid the foundation stone from the New Secretariat building in presence of the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and others.
The projects include – Improvement & Upgradation of Road section from Udaipur to melagarh at a project cost of Rs. 140 crore, Expansion of Longtharai Valley Sub-Divisional Hospital at Chailengta in Dhalai district, Construction of Hostel Building for girls at Dhamma Dipa School at Sabroom in South Tripura, Construction of School Building cum Teachers Training Centre at Tripureshwari Sishu Mandir at Ramnagar in Agartala, which will benefit over 5000 students from tribal areas and another project of Construction of Skill Development Training Centre at Udaipur Fulkumari in Gomati district of the state.
On his two-day visit to the state the Union Minister Reddy also chaired a meeting with the Chief Minister and cabinet ministers of the state to review implementation of various central government schemes in Tripura.
Reddy on Tuesday visited the ongoing construction work of state’s first international immigration station at Nishchintapur along the India-Bangladesh border and took stock of the Agartala-Akhaura rail link project works.
