Underscoring the government's strong focus and commitment on improving community welfare and reinforcing local initiatives in Tripura, the Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu on Friday made his visit to Khowai district and chaired a review meeting to check the execution of developmental works in the district.
He chaired the review meeting in the conference hall of the office of the District Magistrate and said that the development program should be implemented transparently in the service of the country and public welfare. Various projects and services of the central and state governments for public welfare should be delivered to the last people, he added.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of the country on the principle of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas. The Prime Minister has also tried to build a developed India in the future,” he said.
The Union Minister also visited stalls of 5 self-help groups in Durganagar and interacted with the members of the self-help groups. During the discussion with members of self-help groups, and said that the Government of India has taken initiatives to make women self-reliant. He said that women are playing pivotal roles in uplifting their families and communities through their entrepreneurial spirit, leadership and dedication.
