Voting in ballot papers for the people engaged in the election process will start from February 08 and would continue till February 12.
According to the announcement of the Election Commission of India, Tripura Assembly Election 2023 will be held on February 16. The Election Commission has taken various initiatives to complete the polling process in a fair, free, peaceful and violence-free environment. Voting for government employees, police personnel, car drivers and other voters engaged in polling will continue from February 8 to February 12 through secret ballot from 9 am to 4 pm.
CEO office sources said that after polling, the ballot papers will be kept under strict surveillance in the strong room of the returning officers of the respective assembly constituencies. Ballot paper votes will be counted first on the counting day of March 2.
“Voter Facilitation Centers will be opened at various sub-divisional headquarters for the convenience of poll workers”, the official said.
So far, 35,666 thousand Form 12s have been collected from the poll workers. Personnel associated with emergency services (PDCs) will vote at Postal Voting Facilitation Centres.
Apart from this, the polling team will go door to door for the elderly citizens above 80 years, disabled and bedridden voters on February 9 to 10 under the supervision of the returning officers of the respective assembly constituencies. 8,009 voters in the state filed Form 12-D. The Chief Electoral Officer urged voters from all sections to participate in polling peacefully.
For this poll at least in 22 locations election in the ballot paper will be held.
The election commission has also arranged tight security for the poll.
