Want to see Tripura as one of the developed states in country: CM Dr. Manik Saha

Shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who on Thursday took oath of his office and secrecy as MLA, said that development is the key agenda of the government.

“Development is our key agenda. We have always said that we want to see our state as one of the most developed states. In a parliamentary democracy, opposition and ruling parties have very crucial roles to play in the proceedings of the state assembly,” he told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister thanked the people of his 8-Town Bordowali assembly constituency and said, “I wholeheartedly thank the people of 8-Town Bordowali constituency for giving me this opportunity. I shall perform my duties as an MLA with utmost honesty.”

As many as 44 newly elected MLAs of Tripura were administered oath of office and secrecy by Pro-tem speaker Binay Bhusan Das at the state assembly building on Thursday.

UP govt brings fresh measures after stampede deaths in Mahakumbh Mela

A day after at least 30 people were killed in a predawn stampede at the Maha Kumbh, the Uttar Pradesh government has enforced stricter measures for better crowd management and safety of devotees as it restricted vehicular movement, cancelled VIP passes, increased security deployment, and ended needless restrictions on the pontoon bridges that connect the mela city.
