Women perform rituals in Kali temple for rain amid heat wave

AGARTALA:

Amid the intense heat wave, the BJP MLA Antara Deb Sarkar, accompanied by hundreds of women on Wednesday performed rituals at a Kali temple in Sepahijala's Kamalasagar, seeking divine intervention for rains.

“As the heat wave was continuing, today, we performed the ritual with water collected from a nearby pond to wash the feel of the idol of Goddess Kali as per our tradition. This is to seek divine intervention for rain if there is a prolonged dry spell.” MLA Antara Deb Sarkar said.

Hundreds of women along with the priests fetched water from the Kamalasagar Kashba Kali Mandir pond and poured water across the Kali temple.
