Young biker dies in road accident near Tripura University

AGARTALA:

In a heart-wrenching road accident, a young biker lost his life after colliding with a lorry on the Agartala-Sabroom National Highway in front of the main gate of Tripura University under Amtali police station jurisdiction today.

Eyewitnesses reported that the biker was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a lorry. The impact was so severe that the young man was crushed under the wheels of the lorry and died on the spot. Immediately after the accident, bystanders alerted the Amtali police station and the Badharghat Fire and Emergency department.

Upon receiving the information, personnel from the fire department and the police rushed to the scene. The fire department staff managed to retrieve the young man from beneath the lorry and transported him to Tripura Medical College. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead after conducting the necessary examinations.

As of the time of reporting, the identity of the deceased had not been established. The police have taken custody of both the lorry and the bike involved in the accident and transported them to the police station for further investigation. The deceased's body has been shifted to the morgue of Asthma Hospital, where it will be preserved for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the lorry driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident. Amtali police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the absconding driver.

Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident and identify the victim.
